Milk paint has this wonderful ability to keep you humble… Just when you think you have it mastered, it will jump out and do precisely the opposite of what you expect! The good news is that whatever happens, the colors are delicious. I’ve long wanted to experiment with Old Fashioned Milk Paint on metal and …
(I received products from Old Fashioned Milk Paint in exchange for this post. All opinions are mine. I am super proud to be an Official Blogger and Retailer of OFMP. Feel free to ask me questions about painting your own MCM Geometric dresser or working with OFMP) Sometimes you just don’t know what you are …
I am an official Old Fashioned Milk Paint Brand Blogger and an authorized retailer of their products. Although I do sometimes receive product in exchange for posts, this time I used mostly products I paid for. I carry untinted milk paint base in my Tucson, AZ shop, Riveted. Old Fashioned Milk Paint is one of …
So this wasn’t supposed to be a blog post project. I didn’t take a lot of process photos. Maybe it is Mercury in Retrograde’s fault but this table has been A Learning Experience. So I decided to share what I have learned. (This post contains affiliate links and I used some products for which I was …
I found this little side table recently. Way more traditional that my usual look, but it has a very handhewn quality and the wood is pretty so I got it anyway. I wanted to take away some of the traditional feel, while still revealing some of the wood tones. The top is formed out …
When I oohhed and ahhhed over a friend’s new campaign dresser and she responded with a big fat question mark, I figured maybe I need to point out more cool stuff here. I guess I forget not everyone devours design magazines and catalogs like I do! Look for hot links to products I like to …
More experiments with Old Fashioned Milk Paint! *this post is a sponsored post since I received goods from Old Fashioned Milk Paint to complete my project. (The honest opinions and thoughts below are all mine even though I received compensation in the form of free paint and supplies. True, I got lots of cool swag but I can’t be bought off quite that easily! I would like to think I can’t be bought at all. If you insist, you …
I’ve never tried Milk Paint before! When my friend Michelle from The Junkyard Goddess offered to send out some samples I jumped at the chance. Milk Paint is all natural and non-toxic. Made from lime, casein (milk protein), calcium carbonate (chalk), and earth pigments. The colors are intermixable and arrive in a powder form. I …
Asked by the producers of Tucson Morning Blend to recreate some Pinterest projects, I jumped right in. I had been collecting embroidery hoops for *something* for quite some time, so off to the internet for inspiration! First up I found this cute mobile made as a photo display piece. The original poster used wire to …
So in my annual fit of post-holiday pickup, I like to take down the holiday decor and leave a surface bare for a little while. Here is a Before shot, of a dresser in our dining room. This is the only place in the house where the original burnt adobe is visible and I LOVE …
Meet Talulah, our newest family member! Like many new dog owners, I am smitten. She is a wonderful companion, and I am always picking up new toys for her to enjoy. Of course, she doesn’t care what the toys are like, she would be happy with an old sock! I do not want her to …

Some days it feels as if the world stops. Or at least if feels that is SHOULD stop. Yesterday was such a day in Tucson, Arizona. One can’t simply pick up and move forward with the trivialities of everyday life without commenting about the lack of gravity all of a sudden. No decor thoughts today. …
Although modern design is very appealing to me, I like to mix it up. Adding old things give patina to a home, makes it look like it was done over time and not just purchased one weekend at the Crate & Barrel upholstery sale. When I visit flea markets and thrift stores, I keep my …
